Annabel Brett is Professor of Political Thought and History at the University of Cambridge, specializing in the political thought of the late medieval and early modern periods. She is the translator of Marsilius of Padua: The Defender of the Peace (Cambridge University Press, 2005), and the author of Changes of State: Nature and the Limits of the City in Early Modern Natural Law (Oxford University Press, 2011).
