Clair Wills is King Edward VII Professor of English Literature at the University of Cambridge. She has written on Irish migration to post-war Britain in The Best Are Leaving: Emigration and Post-War Irish Culture (Cambridge University Press, 2015), and on post-colonial and European migration in the wake of the Second World War in Lovers and Strangers: An Immigrant History of Post-War Britain (Allen Lane, 2017).
