Rima Praspaliauskiene received her PhD in the UC Davis Anthropology Department. Her dissertation, Enveloped Lives: Caring, Giving, and Relating in Lithuanian Health Care, is an ethnography of health care practices in post-socialist Lithuania in the times of neoliberal reforms. Her research investigates relationship between health, care, and money. Currently she teaches anthropology at Mills College.
