Long abstract | Marianne Hirsch’s ‘Carrying Memory’ explores the connections between three distinctly twenty-first-century projects by women artists in response to mobility and migration: Argentinian artist Mirta Kupferminc, Kenyan/US artist Wangechi Mutu, and Chinese artist Yin Xiuzhen. All three turn to the archive to explore how women carry the burden of a painful past in a way that attempts to look to the future. |
