Long abstract I craft the poem you are about to read, Lebogang Malapile, a third-year student at the University of Johannesburg. My love for poetry began in high school, and it has only deepened as I’ve pursued my studies in politics and international law. In writing this piece, I chose the Shakespearean sonnet form to emphasize the connection between my passions for poetry and political discourse.
