Craig E. Colten is the Carl O. Sauer Professor in the Department of Geography and Anthropology at Louisiana State University. His interests span urban hazards and environmental geography. His latest book is Perilous Place, Powerful Storms: Hurricane Protection in Coastal Louisiana (2009) and he is currently working on a project that will examine water in the American south-east.
