James Blinkhorn is currently undertaking doctoral research at the School of Archaeology, University of Oxford, investigating the dispersal of modern humans out of Africa into South Asia. James has undertaken a broad range of archaeological and palaeoenvironmental projects in India since 2003 and his current fieldwork focus involves interdisciplinary research to characterise the Palaeolithic occupation of the Thar Desert, Rajasthan. By adopting a biogeographic framework of analysis, this research is highlighting the significant role desert landscapes can play in understanding and explaining modern human dispersals.
