Viola Lasmana works at the intersections of transpacific studies and digital media, with an emphasis on literature, film, and media arts. She is currently completing a book, Shadow Imaginations: Transpacific Approaches to Post-1965 Indonesian Archives, on the reconstitution of Indonesia’s decimated cultural archive. Her work has appeared in Film Quarterly, The Cine-Files, Visual Anthropology, make/shift: feminisms in motion, Computers and Composition, and Interdisciplinary Humanities. During 2020–21, she was ACLS Emerging Voices Fellow at Columbia University’s Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race.
