Karen Lykke Syse

Associate Professor at the Centre for Development and the Environment at University of Oslo

Karen Lykke Syse is an agronomist, ethnologist and holds a Ph.D. in cultural history from the University of Oslo in Norway, where she is Associate Professor at the Centre for Development and the Environment. Her research interests pivot around landscape history, animal studies and the cultural history of food. She has been a member of the Norwegian trekking association (DNT) for many years and has held various positions of trust both within the organisation’s Oslo chapter, nationally and by representing its interests politically.
