Vimbai Kwashirai is a Zimbabwean, Oxonian and Marie Curie scholar. He researches on the interface of eco-economic themes in Zimbabwe and Africa. Author of Green Colonialism in Zimbabwe and other works, he has published widely on ecological, socio-economic and political developments in Zimbabwe. His forthcoming book with Cambridge University Press is on election violence, human rights, politics and power in Zimbabwe. He has taught at several universities in Zimbabwe, the United Kingdom and Germany, winning several academic awards and fellowships in Europe. Based in Switzerland, his Marie Curie Horizon 2020 research analyses drought mitigation strategies in modern southern Africa, 1965–2022.
