Isabel Sánchez Ramos is an archaeologist currently based at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London under a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. She is a specialist in late antiquity archaeology and the early medieval period. Her main line of research is based on understanding landscape transformations of ancient Roman cities in Western Europe from the fourth to the eighth centuries ce (from the collapse of the Roman Empire to the early medieval period). She has received several long-term Ph.D. fellowships and postdoctoral contracts in renowned institutions, such as the Spanish Research Council at Rome, the Centre Camille Jullian at Aix-en-Provence, the University of Barcelona, the Ausonius Institute, and the Institute of Advanced Studies at Paris, among others. Her professional experience spans a range of areas: archaeological heritage management, fieldwork, transferring and organizing R&D activities, public dissemination, and leadership of research projects (e.g., IdaVe Project at Idanha-a-Velha). She has been invited to participate in several congresses, meetings, and various international conferences around Europe. She has published widely in Spanish and across a range of platforms.
