(author)Rebecca Zurier is Associate Professor of the History of Art and Faculty Associate in the Program in American Culture at the University of Michigan. Her research and teaching focus on American art with a special interest in urban culture and representation, national identity and the perception of American art abroad, and concepts of race, realism and representation.
